One example is the reliable PCS Softstarter Intelligent Controller for AC motors by Sprecher and Schuh. With its ultra compact design, this softstarter is easily controlled by a microprocessor and mounts on a panel or DIN-rail. It has self diagnostic capabilities, built-in overload and SCR bypass, three unique softstarting modes and a number of other useful features. The PCS Softstarter controls motors to 400HP (@480V).
